Bayern Munich Lead Race for Victor Osimhen After PSG Step Away

FC Bayern Munich are reportedly increasing their interest in signing striker Victor Osimhen ahead of the 2026 summer transfer window. The German giants are believed to view the Nigerian forward as a potential long-term successor to Harry Kane.
Osimhen has been in outstanding form during the 2025–26 season with Galatasaray S.K.. The striker has scored 17 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions, including an impressive return in the UEFA Champions League where he has already found the net seven times in eight matches.
His prolific scoring record attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain F.C.. However, the French club reportedly decided not to pursue the deal further, largely due to the high financial demands involved in completing the transfer.
The decision was also influenced by the stance of head coach Luis Enrique, who was not keen on committing around €150 million for the striker. In addition to the transfer fee, Osimhen’s reported annual salary of roughly €20 million would have made the deal one of the most expensive in the club’s recent history.
With PSG stepping aside, Bayern’s chances of securing the forward have improved. Manager Vincent Kompany is said to support the move, while interest from clubs in the Middle East has also surfaced, though Osimhen is believed to prefer continuing his career in Europe for the foreseeable future.
