Two Real Madrid players collided twice within a short period, with Asensio stretchered off the pitch

In the second leg of the UEFA Champions League knockout play-offs, Real Madrid defeated Benfica 2–1, completing a double over the two legs to advance to the Round of 16. During the match, two Real Madrid players collided with their own teammates within a short period of time. Asensio was stretchered off the pitch and has been taken to hospital by ambulance.
In the 70th minute, while attempting to block Pavlidis’ shot, Carreras accidentally kneed Rüdiger during the challenge, knocking him to the ground. Just three minutes later, shortly after play resumed in the 73rd minute, Asensio and Camavinga collided while contesting an aerial ball. The collision left Asensio injured. He was carried off on a stretcher, and according to the latest update, he has been transported to a hospital by ambulance for a mobile intensive care examination.
